I gave up on Google and just factory reset my nest. Worked like a charm, although you lose your existing saved set points and whatnot.

I gave up on Google and just did a factory reset on my thermostat. This ended the rush hour. confirmed to fix the issue, but you need to start over with schedules, etc.
