Will try all these steps tonight, reading around the internet it seems like more people are reporting a similar issue with random audio dropouts. ( at least the video seems to be working correctly  )

I'm having the same issue, someone from Google has reached out about this. I am currently troubleshooting with him, but I suspect this can only be fixed with a formware update. Let's see.
