Thanks for your reply. Spelling the word "four" send to work for me but it's pretty dammed annoying. Overall, I find it's functionality really poor.

I've had the same problem which is extremely irritating. It started a few months ago and after repeated attempts, it does play correctly (i.e. the station requested, radio 4) but one of my mini speakers has now failed completely and does not respond ...
