Google Nest Community

I tried this, but did not work. Don't have an exterlan receiver, just a recent 1yo LG tv.

Same problem with chromecast with google tv since a few months. Suddenly when changing apps the sound is gone. Current solution: restart the chromecast. But this needs a permanent fix.
