I replaced the whole unit through my retailer so it works now. I'm not sure now which part is at fault, anyway replacing the whole works now.

Sorry I spoke too soon, after ring twice, the chime no longer rings. I think the puck fired up again. So what should I do Google?

I got a new one today but only swapped the chime puck then it worked. I'd say after so many threads that I read online, the "normal" troubleshooting probably only resolve 20% of the chime failure, the rest is highly likely caused by the puck. Google ...
