Same in Thailand. Factory reset device, redownload home app, even got
authentication codes from Google thinking maybe it was problem with my
Google account. Updated the address for the device. All to no avail.
It's an old device first set up in 2010....
Glad to hear I'm not the only one who woke up to this problem. Done
everything. Reset Chromecast, gave new address, reinstalled home app.
The app finds the Chromecast but when setting it up says cannot
authenticate.
