Hello, Ever since the Chromecast firmware issue was fixed, whenever I cast from Chrome on my Macbook onto Chromecast 2nd gen the audio stops after about 30 seconds. The video is still playing but the audio just stops. Any tips on troubleshooting this...

Of course we're gonna do a factory reset, it's one of the options when you click on Get Help 臘‍♀️ Hope you release the fix ASAP. 

Exact same thing happened to me. Phone can't communicate with Chromecast when it tries to connect to wifi during setup

Looks like this is indeed what happened. I unfortunately already factory reset my Chromecast coz of their instructions  Here's hoping a fix comes soon.
