Having now experienced the Amazon Firestick as an alternative, I realize
just how good the Chromecast is. The Firestick is much more complicated
and long-winded compared to the CC.
One would think so, but the issue is now at least 24 hours old and
there's no sign of a fix from Google. I went to Argos today and bought
the Amazon Firestick HD.
Google itself says it's sold 100 million Chromecast devices. While not
all will be the now problematic second generation ones, a very large
number, including mine, are broken since 10 March 2025.
