I'm sitting back & waiting now. The YouTube app is reporting "untrusted device" / "outdated firmware" error message. Most other Chromecast enabled apps just silently fail.At least I'm in the queue for the update now.

Factory reset is one of the troubleshooting steps here . This is what I did... now I've been without my Chromecast for several days 
