To get your Home app working again after factory reset, put the date
March 1 in your phone, start Home and connect the device and
subsequently put the date on automatic again. Worked great for my 2nd
gen Chromecast.
What a great suggestion. I receives the message that updates would take
very long and quit. But even without updates this trick enabled me to
reinstall Home and make my Chromecast work again after a factory reset.
