Can anyone tell me how to be able to tell if my Chromecast is working again. Or should I just keep trying to cast something until it does?

I've done that and I can see my Chromecast screen on my TV but my home app still isn't finding it and it did the update and everything they're just not connecting for some reason my home app can't define the device after it says it was connected help
