Finally the update is available in the Google play store in Canada. 11 days after the problem started. Not good enough, Google. You should do better.

Option 3: change the date on your android phone to March 8 and the Chromecast will update. Then change the date back to automatic time and date. This worked for me many other non American Android users.

This will only work if the Google Home update is available - it clearly is not for many, many people.

Load the app from Google play store first, then change the date to March 8th. That's how I got it to work.
