We're describing the same issue still. My eco mode was turning off when
the schedule kicked back in. The work around for me was the described
change... Making sure in the "away" routine it was actually being set to
eco mode. It sounds like you're not...
I've discovered that in automations for the "away" automation, you can
set up a Google command to "set the thermostat to eco mode", which
should work when you leave the house. For the "home" automation you can
set it back to comfort mode.
Having the exact same issue here. Eco mode is no longer working after
update. If you look at the automations for "away" and "home", they used
to have an option for setting thermostat to eco, but those are all gone
now.
I'm using a Google Streamer 4k as thread router. I have a Google Nest
Hub as well, but have seen much better results with the router being the
Streamer vs. the Nest Hub. Definitely seems to be a google issue, not a
blinds issue.
