When I first installed the nest, I got notifications and the options for
silence. The nest protect doesn’t differentiate between cooking and a
fire and I no longer get notifications, I have to go waft it like any
other smoke alarm.
Wasn’t that the whole pitch for the nest protect- an alarm that knows
the difference between a fire and burnt toast? No, it is not in my
kitchen.Anyway, my main query was why I don’t get any notifications. The
