Replacing Nest Gen 2

I have ordered the recommended Tado thermostat to replace the Nest Gen 2. I am not happy at all. It is a wifi/battery based device with no programming capacity.Why not recommend a nest Gen 4 ? Would you recommend another thermostat ?
