I moved all my IOT off of Google Home to Home Assistant long ago. I
removed every add on from Google, and removed all third party accounts.
The only function of Google Home now is to send commands to my HA and
beep after a timer goes off. HA does all...
You can't. It will be forced eventually, early 2026 supposedly.
Switching ecosystems might work for a while, but likely they all land on
AI at some not so distant point.
Received an email two days ago going through the Gemini Home stuff. All
hype, no instructions. One would think before telling people how to use
commands they would enable access to it in Google Home! I guess I'm just
being silly expecting any coordin...
About 9 or 10pm each night the last couple weeks, one of our old Google
minis loses its mind and gives a "sorry" message. All the rest, a mix of
Google and nest mini, are working. By morning, the brain dead one has
resurrected itself, no reboot neede...
