My Nest Thermostat only enters Eco Temperatures mode when “away” if
CarPlay is engaged. Otherwise, the “away” event is registered in the
logs, but the thermostat doesn’t go into Eco Temperatures even though
it’s set to do so.

to determine home/away status are my Nest smoke alarms, but we don't
have a pet so nothing is moving when we're not home. And certainly not

When I’m away from home, and manually set the Home app to Away, it goes
into Eco mode right away as it should when nobody else is home, but then
5 mins later it would go back to being home again. And it would
attribute it to the thermostat itself. Wh...
