FWIW, I did disable both the preferred services and also IPv6, and it
seems to have helped. Now at only 1 outage in the last week, compared to
1-2 daily outages before I did the changes.
I turned off the "preferred activities" and set the DNS to my ISP
settings, and my network has been stable for the last 36 hours or so.
