LG SP8 soundbar stuck in google home app on "Connecting to wifi"

I'm trying to set up my LG SP8 soundbar to the wifi. Google home finds the soundbar and has connected to it, but when if goes on to connect the soundbar to the wifi, it gets stuck. Just "Connecting to wifi" and loading, loading, loading, for an hour ...
