Account Recovery has erroneous phone number - so can't reset or recover

Hey there Google Community -

I have a primary email address for which I own the domain, as well as a google.com email.

I am setting up some additional Nest Cameras, and because I had an original Nest Account, these new cameras require me to migrate my Nest account to Google.

But I can't use my preferred primary email address because Google is rejecting the password.

When I try to reset on the website or the app, it has me prove I am not a robot, and then asks for the last password I can remember, and then tells me "Get a verification code".  To get a verification code, first confirm the phone number you added to your account (***)***-**01. Standard rates apply.

This is the problem - the number shown ends **01, only I have never had a phone number ending in 01.  My mobile number ends in 75.  If I type in the correct phone number the system tells me, "This number doesn't match the one you provided. Try again."

If I say that I don't have the phone or just keep entering the correct phone number I then get a message that I didn't provide enough info for Goggle to be sure this account is really yours.  Google asks for this info to keep your account secure.   To recover your account, try again and answer each question shown ."   But every time I try I get the same question - what was the last password I can remember and then confirm a phone number I don't know and have no access to.

This is inane.   I own the domain for my primary email.   I even have this email as a backup in my working gmail.com email.

Hoping someone has an idea on how I can get Google's help to correct the errant data that somehow has come to be associated with my legitimate account.

Thanks -
Dan
