I currently have two houses and have wifi set up in the one not occupied so I can use my cameras and monitor the thermostats (all Google or Nest products). After the recent update last week, all my devices (cameras, thermostats, and lights) have gone offline. I have reset my router twice, rebooted my phone, deleted and readded the Google Home app, but nothing seems to work. I had a neighbor check to be sure the wifi is working and it is; the thermostat is connected to the wifi. I have contacted Google, but they cannot solve the problem. I am unsure if this has happened to anyone else and if they resolved it. I am thinking I may have to physically be in the house with my phone or iPad to directly connect with the wifi to reset the connections, but that is just a guess. That would be a pain since the house is in Texas and I'm living in Florida. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi there njzoda,
Thanks for reaching out to our community.
It's certainly strange that all of your devices went offline all of a sudden. Don't worry though, let's see what we can do about it.
Do you have any other device that you can log into the Google Home app with? Such as a phone or tablet. Doing so will help us rule out your current device as the one having trouble communicating with the Nest app.
However, if all of your devices seem offline, I think the best option would be to try restarting or factory resetting one of them to see if it can reconnect. They might have gone offline due to a change in the Wi-Fi network that's preventing them from connecting properly. This doesn't necessarily mean your internet isn't working.
Let me know what you find out.
Regards,
Angel.

Thank you, I appreciate the reply.
Please note that I am not currently at the house where I have the issue as I reside in another state, and the problem is at my second home. I have confirmed that the wifi is working, and other non-Google/Nest apps are working fine. It is only the devices tied to the Google Home app that have the issue. I do not know if there is a way to reconnect the devices without being physically present where they are. I can try to see if we can reset one of them and if that will work once I can get someone over there. Probably the easiest is my battery operated Google camera. If I need to reset that camera, what is the easiest way? I can also try to reset my Nest thermostats, but again, I will not have phone there to reconnect. I have confirmed the thermostats are currently connected to wifi. If you have other ideas, please let me know.

Hi njzoda,
Thanks for getting back to me.
You're right, you'll only be able to set up your Nest/Google Home devices after a factory reset if you're nearby. You'll need to be on the same Wi-Fi network to connect and set them up again.
A possible workaround is to have someone with access to your home structure in the Nest/Google Home app or your account set up the devices for you. They can add them to your home structure or use your account to set them up from scratch. Then, the devices will appear on your phone as well.
I wouldn't recommend sharing your Nest account as it can be confusing, but you can try this workaround or wait until you're closer to your devices. If you decide to factory a Nest cam battery feel free to check out this article on how to Restart or factory reset Nest camera or doorbell.
Let me know how it goes.
Regards,
Angel.
