All "Works with Google" devices offline in Google Home app and cannot reconnect

I recently wanted to get away from Alexa and voice control, as the quality of voice assisted devices seems to have dropped every year since I started using it. I would like to just control all my smart devices, specifically switches and lights, from one app. The Google Home app seems the best solution as I can add easy widgets to my Samsung home screen for turning lights on and off. I'm using Phillips Hue lights, Govee lights, and Kasa smart switches. I had everything set up perfectly in the Google Home app and had set up the widget on my phone, however, I share the household with my wife and wanted to set up the same thing on her phone. Once I had done the exact same thing on her phone, every single works with Google device in my Home app went offline and cannot reconnect. I can't seem to fix this at all. I removed my wife from the household to try and fix it, but nothing will connect still. All three services, Hue, Govee, and Kasa are currently showing as unlinked in my Home app, however all of the devices are still present and offline, and when I try to reconnect or relink the services, I just get error messages. The whole setup seems to be bricked. I can't remove any of the offline devices to start over and I can't find anywhere to reset. I would love to fix this issue on my phone and have it work on my wife's phone as well. Does anyone have any insight into this? Nothing seems to be working.

Hi @jonbrak,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry to hear that your lights and smart switches that "Works with Google" are offline on your Google Home app after sharing the household with your wife, but there's no need to worry; I'm happy to help you right now.

I appreciate your effort in troubleshooting the devices. Please help me out by answering the following questions:

  • Have you verified the online status of your devices on the manufacturer's app?
  • Could you please attempt to set up your device within the Google Home app using the "Matter-enabled devices" option?

Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Best regards,

Gabriela
