I've been using a Zolo Mojo speaker on Google Home for the past 5 years. I recently has some issues so I did a factory reset on the speaker and tried adding it to Google home again. All works fine until the end where it does the configuration of the speaker and responds " Unable to complete setup" When I browse for the speaker in Google Home I can see it under devices but it is "Offline" when I have my phone connected to my Wi-Fi I can cast audio but when I communicate with the speaker it says "Please log into the Google Home app" I am logged into my Google account and am connected to the same wifi as my speaker. Please assist...

Good luck! I recently had this same experience with 4 of these speakers. After scouring the internet, I couldn’t find a solution so I reached out to Anker. They have informed me that this model has been discontinued, therefore, there are no updates to fix the issue. In addition, they are unwilling to replace or repair the devices. They informed me I could connect to the speakers via Bluetooth. That seems to work but the Google Assistant functionality is gone! Anker will not do anything to help other than offering me a discount on a new device. I noticed when I tried to pair my device with Google Home that it installs an update. My devices worked fine prior to this update. I feel that Anker has neutered my devices to force the purchase of new ones. Shady as hell and I am pretty sure this violates consumer protection laws. I am planning on reaching out to the BBB and the FTC regarding the issue to compel Anker to either fix the devices or refund me the original MSRP of $79 per device. I have been going back and forth with them via email for over a week. I sure as hell won’t be buying any more of their devices!

Hi @Badkins,
Thank you for your prompt response and the detailed information you’ve provided. I've reviewed your input and understand that the speaker Zolo Mojo that you're referring to is a third-party device, and you received a message that says please log into the Google Home app. As such, its troubleshooting options may be more limited compared to Google-manufactured products, and I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you've already taken. In this case, you need to contact the manufacturer.
Warm regards,
Jeremy.

Don’t waste your time contacting Anker. They do not have a fix for the issue. Their answer is that the devices are defective and need to be replaced. Since the devices are out of warranty, they are saying that new devices need to be purchased. Anker has yet to provide a comparable model that offers the Google Assistant functionality at this time. I am beyond disgusted with Anker and Google at this point. I am ready to switch my home assistant ecosystem to Apple!

The manufacturer is useless. All they can do is offer canned troubleshooting steps. Why do these devices lose their functionality after receiving an update from Google through the Home app? I feel that Anker and Google are both responsible for the issue and unfortunately, the consumer is caught in the middle of a finger pointing match.
