Why can't we change WiFi through app on any nest devices?

I'm sure this thread a million times, but it seems ridiculous, this is more of a vent/wondering why "Smart Devices" can't easily be changed. Set up a newer/better wifi today and I spent the the better part of 4 hours having to factory default, reconnecting, and reconfiguring 3 devices.

I even set it up in parallel hoping I can just swap it over.  The nest doorbell being the worst and it taking 2 hours on it's own with google support not working and failing to connect or even get a call.

The worst part?  My dishwasher and oven (came with the house) took about 3 minutes, total, to get changed over.  Went into the LG app secured with MFA, clicked "change WiFi", put in new creds, held my phone near the devices and they changed.

Yet the "technology company" google cannot even do that.

Think about that, my dishwasher was able to change WiFi without factory defaulting, losing all settings and custom programming set up, or having to contact support while "smart devices" meant for controlling a smart home couldn't do anything.

Completely agree, Google needs to make this easier to do. A tip for if you ever need to do this again, if you're comfortable changing your router settings, you can change your new Wi-Fi network name and password in your router's settings to be the same as the previous ones. Your devices will then automatically reconnect to the Wi-Fi, and you don't need to factory reset them and set them up again.
