Audiobook commands not working

Runda007

My mother listens to audiobooks through Google play on the Google nest and commands such as stop, skip, and go back the device are no longer recognized.  She has to unplug the device just to get it to stop now.  Anyone else having issues?  She's visually impaired and can't use the screen.

Hello Runda007,

Thanks for visiting the Community!

My apologies for the late response. I can imagine how hard it is when you hear that your mother is having issues with her Google Home or Nest device. A few questions: when did the issue start? What specific Google Home or Nest device does your mother have? How far is the speaker from the router? Is she having issues with the same commands when playing music?

Let's try these steps below:

  1. Move your Google Home/Nest device within 15-20 ft. away from the router to get enough signal from your network.
  2. Reboot your speaker/display and router by disconnecting them from the power source and leave them unplugged for 1 minute. Once done, plug them back one at a time with intervals.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hi!  The router is in a different room and the plugging it doesn’t work.  Already tried that before coming onto this forum.  Thanks

Hi Runda007,

If you haven't already, please factory reset your mother's Google Nest Hub and set it up as a new device. Afterwards, check if that resolves the issue with controlling the Audiobooks using voice commands on the display. Check out how to factory reset your device here.

Keep us posted.

Cheers,
Lovely
