So I think I have basically the same problem as https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Apps-Account/Can-t-link-Spotify-as-music-provider/m-p/38076 (and follow up) https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Apps-Account/Can-t-link-Spotify-as-music-provider-2/m-p/44906....
As far as I can tell, this never got a proper solution.
I have multiple Google nest minis and one nest hub 2, and for like two-three years I have been able to play music from Spotify by just saying "play music", "play artist" or "play playlist". I don't remember how I managed to get it to work (was set to no default provider at this point at least) , but I just realised that "play song by artist" is supposed to work, which it never had for me. The solution I found when googleing for this was to unlink and relink Spotify from Google Home, but since I can't find Spotify as a selection in the music section I simply selected YouTube as provider and then went back to `No default provider '.
Now everything still works the same as before on the minis (seemingly everything but "play song by artist"), but when I say "play music" on the nest hub 2 it does a Google search instead.
The 'main problem' still remains, Spotify does not appear in the music section. Not even if you try to press "other music services". The account on Spotify I usually use is not the same as the one I have in Google, but I tried making a new one with the same email and it still doesn't work.

Hi Janisk,
Thanks for bringing this up.
I appreciate all the details you've shared. Could you tell us what country are you located at? Also, it looks like you've done some recommended troubleshooting steps regarding this but I'd like to confirm if you're already done with performing a factory data reset to see if this will work? If not, let's try that first so we can check further what's the next steps to try.
Keep me posted.

Hi,
Thank you for answering.
I am located in Finland. I had not done a factory reset, only clean reinstalls of both Spotify and the Home app. I did a factory reset now and it seems to have mostly fixed the problem.
I can now say "play music" to the hub and it starts playing, even though Spotify still isn't listed as a selection in the music section in the app. The phrase "play song by artist" still doesn't work but maybe that's a whole other problem.

Hi Janisk,
Thanks for the update. Glad to know that it's already working on your end.
Since Finland is not yet a supported country, there are limitations on other features especially when using partnered services. As a workaround, you may try to change your device's language to English US and see if Spotify would be available. Just to give you a heads up, this feature may or may not work.
Hope this works.
