I bought a new Google Nest Thermostat but I can't delete the old Honeywell Thermostat.
I'll go into the HW thermostat in the home app and go to settings, I'll press the "unlink Honeywell home" button and it says, On the next screen, select Honeywell Home and tap unlink. Honeywell home isn't on the next screen under linked services. Would this be because my wife added it under the google home app from her phone? Is there a way to force delete it?

I have exactly the same issue. It says it cannot unlink the Honewell home Thermostat because I am not the owner. In my case it is my same email address that I link the account with. Seems this feature is broken to me. No way to remove the old thermostat or Honeywell Home device.

Nothing? Nobody has a clue on this on this one?

Hey there,
Sorry for the late response on this, but I wanted to hop in here to see if we still needed help? I have been in talks with our engineering team on this and they are wanting to clarify that the user who is trying to do the unlinking is the one who performed the linking of the device with the Google service in the first place. I would double check that the account who linked it is the one who is unlinking the device.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Garrett,
Yes still having trouble removing the honeywell themostat from google home. try to unlink and it says only owner which is me. I went to honeywell site and it is removed ok from honeywell home. If you know a way to get it out of google home that would be great.
Thanks,
Chris

Good Day Garrett, So I just went into my wife's phone and unlinked the Honeywell Home from the Google Home app. Nothing happened. The thermostat was still there, when I went to the thermostat I couldn't unlink Honeywell home again although it was there. I then went into my phone and went to the thermostat and unlinked it without a hitch. It then disappeared.
My wife has an apple ios and I have an android phone.
Perhaps because the thermostat was setup using my wife's phone this made her the owner of the Honeywell app although I'm the main user in the Google Home app. Who knows but it's gone now. Hopefully this will help Chris as well and maybe make sense to your engineers.

Thanks for sharing but my account is the only one that links all accounts with google home. The honeywell team actually disabled my account when I sold my house. The thermostate belongs to new Home owner. Best Regards, Google home needs to find a way to remove the link when accounts on honeywell home is no more.

Chris

Hey there,
Thanks to Sdiddy84 for the update, glad to hear you got it worked out, and I will pass along the info.
Just want to double check that cmat is still having issues though from what it sounds like?
Since you sold the house that the device is in, the owners of the house would have to do a factory reset on the device for it to be removed from your Google Home app.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Best regards,
Garrett DS

That was done before I left the house. Honeywell Home account was also removed without issue. Only Google Home link is stuck.... Does google home have a way to manually remove the link?
Thanks,
Chris

Hey there,
Thanks for your patience on this. We have sent this to our engineering team and they said to check the Google Account settings > https://bit.ly/2WFJOaY > Security > "Your Devices" or also check "Third-party apps with account access" and see if it's linked there.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Best regards,
Garrett DS

HI Garrett DS,
Thanks for the tip. I went to the location you mentioned and I see the "My Thermostat" in the devices section. There is no way to remove it from there. I also seen lower in the third party links there was a Honeywell Home link. I was able to remove it but the device is still in Google home devices. Not sure how to remove the device. I contacted Honeywell and they helped as much as the could they confirm my account no longer exists with them on thier side. they show the other links I have for new thermostat but is uses a completely different link total comfort not Honeywell Home. I hope Google has a way to remove this "My Thermostat" device from my home account. seems I exhausted every other way.
Regards,
Chris

Hey there,
Thanks for the information. Just wanted to clarify, in the top right hand corner on the screen "Your devices" you should see an option to "sign out" when y ou click on the 3 dots.
Please let me know if you're able to see that or not.
Best regards,
Garrett DS

Hi Garrett DS,
I need more clarification I cannot see your screen shot for some reason.
I do not see the device "Thermostat" by itself in devices. I do see Home which shows all 43 more devices. I have three dots next to the Home but that will remove everything? All I want to remove is the Thermostat. I do not want to lose the rest of the devices I already setup.
Thanks,
Chris

Hey there,
Thanks for the information. Our engineering team has been investigating this and was wondering if you have tried to uninstall and reinstall the app to see if that helps with the device removal?
Please let us know.

HI Garrett DS I just gave that a try also and the "My Thermostat" still exists and cannot be removed still. Please let me know if they have any other ideas to try.
Thanks,
Chris

Having same issues here. Google told me to talk to Honeywell and Honeywell said to talk to Google…. I’ve removed the thermostat from Honeywell home, and tried to remove it from Google home app but when click Unlink Honeywell Home, it takes me to add devices screen.

Out of curiosity, are you also using iOS? I set the thermostat up on my iPhone 12 last year, but I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max now. Also, I logged into my Google Home app on my android tablet and the devices do not appear. Only show up in the iOS version.

Hi rjkelly1894, No I am using Android 12 release on SG21Plus. I have talked to Honeywell and successfully removed it from thier app. Only Google home is still showing the device as linked to Honeywell home which is incorrect status.
