Can't send invitation at the moment

I'm having an issue adding a Gmail account to the Google Home I've got set up.

I set it up using my business GSuite email, with no issues, but I can't add my wife using the same email domain or with her personal Gmail account.

I've gone through many messages on this forum and there doesn't appear to be a solution.

It would be great if the error messages could be more detailed to help people with this issue.

Hi @SteveAU 

did you check on Google Home from your wife device? Do you see the invite? Remember that the invite needs to be a Gmail domain.

You can't invite anyone with the following account:

  • Google Workspace (G Suite) account.
  • Google Account for children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country)

There is also a limit of 6 person for group in the app.

Yes I did. There isn't an invite.

This was following a fresh install of the app on iOS.

Could I get an update please? To confirm the current situation:

  • I'm inviting another user to manage Google Home
  • I've tried adding them using a generic gmail address and a Google workspace email address
  • I've reinstalled the app on both devices
  • I've tried inviting them using the + on the top left of the app, the Invite home member button on the main page, and via the Household settings
  • I've rebooted both devices
  • I am managing the home using my workspace email

You cannot invite a home member or get invited if you are using your Google Workspace Account to set up your Home. If you'd like to have this feature available, you can submit feedback to our product team, which continuously works to improve the overall customer experience when using Google Home and Nest products.
