My Nest Thermostat, which I have had and used with Alexa for years will not migrate, as required by Google. It currently works fine, in Alexa it shows it is connected via "Nest", despite my not having the Nest app on my phone or the Nest skill. Per the migration instructions, I downloaded the Google Home app to set it up for the migration. My Google account is a Workspace Basic account. When I try to add the thermostat to Google home, I get the message "Searching for devices" which brings up only "Chromecast found - Would you like to set up Boom boom room TV?" First, I have neither Chromecast nor a "boom boom room TV"! Other attempts have resulted in the message "Discover isn't available. It looks like Discover isn't available on your Google Account." I have tried in Google Home setting it up both as a "New Device" and "Works with Google" and gotten the above results.
According to Google, I will no longer be able to use it come September 29 unless I follow the migration instructions which simply don't work. Google has not been forthcoming with any workable solution. Has anyone had the same situation and found any solution? If not, I'll be forced to buy a new thermostat and I can guarantee it certainly won't be a Nest after this mess.

Firstly, which model of thermostat do you have? Here's how to check:

Which migration instructions are you referring to? It's worth bearing in mind that some Google Home app features are not available for Google Workspace accounts and to access all features, you will need to use a personal Gmail account instead. It may be that you need to reset the thermostat, set it up using a personal Gmail account, then setup the connection with Alexa again.

Hello folks,
I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.
Thanks for your input here, @David_K and Juni.
@Chanton, in addition to what was mentioned above, you no longer need to add the thermostat if it is already set up on the Nest app. Verify that the thermostat is working independently in the Nest app and check the email account associated with it. Then, make sure to sign in with the right email address in the Google Home app, and the thermostat should appear on its homepage. You can check for other available home structures where it might be located.
Let us know if you need more help.
Regards,
Mark
