Cannot connect any app to home

I can't add literally any device to Google Home now. It says "linked" quickly followed by "something went wrong try again". It's happening across all device I own, my husbands devices, across multiple apps to link. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted routers, completely changed wifi settings entirely. Google Home is completely useless in this day and age.

Yeah i think youre right, useless indeed.

I'm assuming all your devices use a Wi-Fi connection (NOT Thread, ZigBee or other).

Not Matter either? But maybe you are as you're using iOS!?

What brands of devices are you try to connect?

Some apps allow you to connect their app to Google Home (and others) via their app in its Settings like TP-Link Kasa...

Hi @stratustay,

Thank you for posting in the community. I’m sorry to hear that you’re unable to link any third-party apps or devices to your Google Home app. I understand how frustrating it is to see a "linked" message only to have it immediately followed by "something went wrong," especially when you have already tried reinstalling the apps and even changing your entire Wi-Fi configuration. I appreciate you confirming that this issue is occurring across multiple devices and different third-party apps. I'm happy to assist.

@SmartHomeH-TAGS, thanks for jumping in.

To gather the necessary information, please answer the following questions:

  • Are you using an iOS or Android device to perform the setup?
  • Is your Google Home app up to date?
  • Are you using a personal Gmail account or a workspace/education account?

I'll be waiting for your reply.

Best regards,

Derick.
