Cannot link Spotify to Google Home

I had to unlink my Spotify to me Google Home is music was not playing,  Now when I try to relink I keep getting a message saying something went wrong - try again.  I have tried to reconnect about 6 times keep getting the same message.

Hey folks,

 

We're sorry if you're having trouble linking your Spotify account — let's see what's going on.

 

A few questions: when did it start happening? What country are you located in? Also, have you tried reinstalling your Google Home and Google Assistant app? 

 

  • Try using a different device in linking your Spotify? 
  • Resetting your Google Home might help too.

Hi There - still no luck have tried all of your suggestions and even cleared the caches in my iPhone. I'm in Australia - problem started happening a few weeks ago when my Spotify wouldn't play on my Google Home speakers so I unlinked my Spotify account and now cannot reconnect it?

Hey Lisa0201,

 

Thanks for the update. Could you try the steps below:

 

  • Uninstall the Spotify app on your phone.
  • Once uninstalled, try linking your Spotify account again on the Google Home app.
  • If you successfully link your Spotify account, you can install the app back on your phone.
