Cast homegroup not syncing

Upon pressing the chromecast icon very often the groups don't appear, only the Create Group is to be seen.

Many times in the past upon pressing a group button in order to cast music to all devices in the group, the tick boxes on the right would not be updated.

Where it was often in the past since several months the tick boxes on the right NEVER get updated; all devices play but their status is not reflected in the app.

I reinstalled the app, recreated a group, no success.
