Chromecast not working

-Factory reset

plug to outlet

reboot modem

 TV off/on

Tried all this but I cannot connect phone to Chromecast.

I moved to another house and ISP provider  so i erased what i had because it wasn't working.

I hate to ask, but I need to, as its a common issue with chromecasts.  When you say you factory reset it, did you follow all the steps on this link?

Chromecasts do not handle network changes well, and unless the factory reset is completed, when you plug it into the tv and turn it on, it needs to be at initial setup, otherwise nothing will work on it.  Once the Factory reset is complete, you will plug it into the tv and turn it on, and use your google home app to proceed to set up the chromecast.  

Thanks. I’d reset it five or 6 times. I found out the problem. I had to setup through the network created by chromecast in order to set up with the google jome app. Not sure it’s clear on the instructions to do that or not but it’s working!
