Deleting Honeywell thermostats in Home app

This seemed to have been kind of asked before without a resolution.

I upgraded my Honeywell thermostat and had to reconnect to Honeywell to add it to the Home app, but the old thermostat is still there, though it is not connected. If I try unlinking it, the app tells me that I am not the owner. If i unlink the whole service and the relink, the old thermostat is still there, as well as the new one. So, I have a thermostat that is not connected in my home that I can't remove from the home app. It also appears in my home hub device. 

Ultimately, the question is, how do you delete a Honeywell thermostat that is no longer connected in your home from the Home app?

hi jake, thanks for replying. yes, i am still having the problem. i have 2 honeywell thermostats that i had in the home app which i've replaced with newer versions. i've successfully added the new ones, but i can't get rid of the old ones. when i do go into one of the old thermostats and try unlinking, i get the message that "only owners can unlink". i suspect that i probably should've removed the thermostats from the home app before physically replacing them, but i don't think that's the way it should work.

Hello nnjjoe50, 

I want to check if you have home members in your Home structure. If you do, you may try to remove them to see if that will remove the old Honeywell Thermostats before re-adding them. Here's the support article on how to invite or remove home members.
