Devices appear in two homes

I have four devices (speakers) that appear in two different homes. How do I get them to appear in one home only?

Hi @Marc48S,

You can remove devices from your selected home by using the Home app.

Hope this helps. 🙂

Does not work -- Clicking remove does not remove the device

Hello folks,

@Marc48S I understand if you're having this issue. I know it's confusing and I really wanted to help you with this. A few questions: What app are you using? What error message do you see when you try to remove the device? If possible, can you send the screenshot of your home with the 2 different homes that you have.

Keeps me posted.

@RXShorty thanks for your response.

Best,
Emerson

I use Google Home on Android. I have two homes. 4 devices are listed in both homes, with the same settings in both, including home, placement, and Wi-Fi. In the proper home, they are listed with the correct placement. In the other home, they are grouped together as "other cast devices". If I try to delete one of these devices, the delete returns with no error, but the device is not deleted. I would prefer devices to be listed only in one homer.

Hello Marc48S,

Appreciate the response. Sounds like a minor hiccup on our end.

Give these steps a try:

  • Clear the cache of your Google Home App.
  • Make sure that your Google Home App is updated?
  • If the issue persists, try reinstalling the Google Home app.

Looking forward to your reply.

Emerson

Hi Marc48S,

I'm sorry to hear if you're still having the same issue. To confirm, have you tried to remove the home structure with the "other cast devices"?

Try these steps:

  • Remove all of your Google Home speakers from the home with the correct placement.
  • Try removing the home structures.
  • Reset the actual Google Home speakers to the factory default.
  • Re-add them to the Google Home App.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Emerson
