Hey Margo1,

Thanks for reaching out — let's check this out for you.

Give these steps a try;

  1. On a mobile device, open the Google Home app.
  2. At the top-right, tap the account icon.Verify that the Google Account on screen is the one linked to the speaker or display. To switch accounts, tap the dropdown arrow > choose another account or Add another account.
  3. Go back to Home view > select Settings > Communication > Call providers.
  4. Under Your own number, tap Edit > Add or change phone number.
  5. Enter the phone number, then tap Add.
  6. The customer receives a text with a code. Enter the code, then tap Verify.

Note: If the customer doesn't receive a code, wait 30 seconds, then tap Send new code.

Customers can find the phone number under Your own number. It can take up to 10 minutes for the phone number to show up.

Best,

Alex

Hi there,

Thanks for instructions.  Yes the app is linked to the correct account.

Under Call Providers my number is not shown at all - so when you say under your own number tap edit - nor is there any edit option - i am unable to do this step.  All I have under Carriers is an incorrect Carrier of Telstra.  I was advised on the phone that Optus, which is my carrier, needs to be added from your end - is this correct?

If you can assist further that would be great.

Thanks
Margaret

Hey Margo1,

Thanks for the additional information. To make sure, are you from Australia? For now, mobile calling is only available through:

You might want to check the other option which is Duo calling

Thanks,

Alex

Hi - Yes from Australia.  It Telstra is the only added Call Provider then I'm extremely disappointed with the product and it severely limits its functionality to me.  What a disappointment.  Optus is probably the second largest telephone provider in Australia and should be added.  Please advise what Google intend to do with regard to this as this was not explained to me on purchase of the product. Thank you - Margaret
