Google Assistant Routine Not Finding Philips Hue Bulb in ‘Home‘

Conspicuus

Greetings,

I’m encountering an odd issue where my Google Assistant handles manual voice commands for my Philips Hue bulb perfectly, but the bulb is not recognized when I attempt to include it in a routine. The bulb is correctly set up in the Google Home app and functions well when controlled by voice manually. Despite re-syncing devices, confirming the bulb’s assignment to the correct ‘home’ and room, and checking all app permissions, routines fail to find the bulb, reporting it as ‘not found’. Has anyone encountered this with Philips Hue bulbs or other smart devices in routines? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Conspicuus,

Thanks for visiting the Google Nest Community. Since the voice command to control your Philips Hue bulb works, try adding this action to your routine:

  • + Add action > Try creating your own.
  • Type in the command: Turn [on/off] [bulb name].
  • Save the action.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Alex
