Google Home App Settings - unable to connect

Hello there

I am having a problem with my Google Home app. Out of nowhere, my settings page just can't connect. I did every single step i could think of. Reinstalled app, double checked internet settings, account etc...

It was working and just started to behave like this randomly.

I would appreciate any help.

Hi Zoli1975,

 

That certainly hasn’t been easy for you ― let’s check it out. 

 

I noticed that your Google Home app is under a Public Preview. Is the settings tab working under the Public Preview? When did it stop working?It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first: 

 

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes tops.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

 

We can isolate this further using another phone. Install the Google Home app and use the same account and tell me how it goes.

Hi Zoli1975,

 

To make sure, have you tried using a different phone? If it's still not working, try using a mobile hotspot to better isolate the issue.

I am having this same issue but on the main home screen.  All my device are listed and everything seems to working correctly, however, I have the "can't connect"

Gotcha. Have you tried the suggested steps above? Also, are you getting the same result when using a different phone?

It's connected and showing home/away...not sure of how or why, but everything is fine.  👍🏽
