Is there an update to the post Re: Apr. 5, 2022 iOS update of Google Home app is ... - Google Nest Community? I recently migrated to the Nest cameras and am experiencing the exact same issue.

It is still a problem. If I open the Google Home app and view cameras and then fail to close the application on my iPhone, the phone gets noticeably warm even though the screen is not on, and the battery will drain quickly if I fail to close the Google Home app.

If you linked your account to google you can’t use nest to sign in anymore is what I was told by customer service. There is no way to unlink the two.

To what are you referring?

Thanks. Did you ever hear any update from Google?

Just this reply from Google Nest Community Specialist @GarrettDS on April 15, 2022: "Thanks so much for the additional information about the battery drain. This definitely isn't ideal but I'll pass it along and maybe something can come out of them. I'll go ahead and lock this thread."

I've noticed that if I leave the "Cameras" screen up it drains fast. I'm testing just closing the Cameras screen to the home screen of the Home app. So far I don't think this drains the battery. I also turned off Background App Refresh to see.

There was an update to Google Home the other day and so far, it seems to behaving normally. Continuing to monitor but hope it's fixed.

Hi there,
I apologize for my late response and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I'm terribly sorry to hear that you're having this issue, I understand how upsetting this could be, but I'm happy to assist you with this issue. If you are having issues with your Nest Cam or Nest Doorbell, I would suggest that you make sure that your camera settings are set correctly to save your battery and do a restart if you haven't so far.
Best Regards,
Brad
