I would like to add a few Smart Plugs to our home but I would like to connect them directly to Nest or the Google App without first having to set them up through a 3rd party. Do these exist? I have an Amazon Plug that directly connects to my Alexa account which is great but I prefer to keep everything in the Google ecosystem. Thanks!

Sadly not yet, but I personally use the TP link Kasa smart plugs and they work great. Yes you initially set them up in the Kasa app, but then adding to Google home is a breeze and they work perfectly !

Hi Cascadeconsult,
There are actually a limited number of device that can connect directly, you are looking for devices that support "Seamless setup" to connect directly to your Google Speakers or Displays.
You can find more details here but some examples are the Philips Hue Smart Plug and the TP Link Kasa (HS 105).
I hope this helps.
All the best,
Phil

What's wild is I use those tp link plugs and still had to use the app, but I set them up a while ago so maybe things have changed. They work VERY well, I have one that I only use on the Christmas tree and unplug it the rest of the year, and when I plug it back it it's ready to go, no setup required.

Hi, slightly different topic, but can plugs like these be set up with a Nest Thermostat, for powering space heaters?
