Google Workspace Account - Unable to Send Invites to Google Home - "Can't send invite right now"

Hello Nest Community,

I am currently using a Google Workspace account with a "Google Workspace Business Standard" license for my personal use, which includes my own domain and related services. All my personal devices, including my Google Home, are linked to this account.

However, I am facing an issue when trying to invite other users to my Google Home. Every time I attempt to send an invite, I receive an error message stating, "Can't send invite right now." I have tried multiple times, but the issue persists.

I would appreciate any guidance or suggestions on how to resolve this problem, as it is hindering my ability to share my Google Home with family and friends. Thank you in advance for your help!

I'm just another Google Nest customer, but I suspect you cannot do what you want to do. I know, from other posts in this forum, that you cannot invite someone with a Google Workspace Account to be a member of a Google Nest "household".

According to this Google Nest Help topic, "Some Google Home app features are not available for Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) accounts. To access all Google Home app features available in your country, link a personal Gmail account instead.":

And on this thread, another customer said this:

"Google Assistant now works with Google Workspace accounts

Google Home half works with Google Workspace accounts: you can't invite any other users to a Home setup by a Workspace account and you can't invite a Workspace account to any Home setup by a Gmail account and you can't setup a Camera on a Home setup by a Workspace account.

It's an absolute joke, for paid accounts to be restricted in this way, I'm leaving Google because of it."

I appreciate your response and the information you provided. It's highly frustrating to learn that Google Workspace accounts face such limitations when it comes to integrating with Google Home, particularly for those of us who use Workspace accounts for personal purposes.

It's honestly baffling that Google has not addressed this issue, considering we are paying customers. We should be entitled to full functionality with Google Home, just as personal Gmail account users are. This oversight is not only disappointing but also discouraging for loyal customers who expect better from a company like Google.

I sincerely hope that Google takes this concern seriously and works on a solution to enable seamless integration between Google Workspace accounts and Google Home as soon as possible.

Thank you again for your input. It's crucial that we, as a community, continue to hold Google accountable for delivering the services we pay for and deserve.

I'm just here to completely agree. I've had a Workspace/G-Suite account for exactly the same reason as you for YEARS now and they haven't fixed/added any integrations with Google Home. To add to the list above, you also can't use your calendar, for instance to ask "Hey, Google, what's on my calendar for today?" My wife and I ended up switching the whole Home to her personal Gmail.

This issue is long away from closing!

Gave feedback several time - Still there is no interoperability between Workspace and Google Home.

Some Google Home app features are not available for Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) accounts. To access all Google Home app features available in your country, link a personal Gmail account instead.
