Google app and Chromebook

I am trying to assign a music service (Spotify) to a Nest speaker using my Chromebook.  However to do that I need the Google app and I am constantly told my device is not compatible with that app.

I am going round in circles.

I thought Chrome OS, Chromebooks and Android apps, especially Google apps, were compatible.

**bleep** frustraring.  Almost annoying enough to switch to fecking Apple.

Even on this forum I cannot enter the platform as Chrome OS as only Android and iOS are offered.

Come on Google get the fingers out and make these things work.

Hey there,

Sorry to hear about the frustrations that you're having, but I'm happy to help.

If you're still having issues with this, I would suggest trying the following steps.

  1. Download and open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap Account in the top-right.
  3. Check the Google Account shown is the one linked to your Google Home or Google Nest device. ...
  4. Back on the home screen, tap + in the top-left, then Music and audio.
  5. Select Spotify and tap Link Account, then Log in to Spotify.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,

Garrett DS
