Google home no longer allowing me to change colour of lights.

Strange issue, across three different 'works with google' devices, including Phillips Hue, I can't change the colour of my lights, yet every other aspect of control works via Google voice, dimming, turning on and off etc, but when you say "hey Google set lights to blue" for example Google says "lights offline", but if you say hey Google turn the lights off" it's does so!! Also I can change the colour of the lights using each devices own app.

Confirmed here, too. Color commands and routines are working again.

Same issue here, seemed to have started when Sengled had their outage but I am not 100% sure that it wasn't happening before that. I only have Sengled bulbs but have some GE bulbs coming. I'll update this thread if they work or not.  I'll test my Sengleds when I get home, hope it's fixed so I can return the GE bulbs!

Dunno but they're working now. 

If your bulbs are capable, try changing them to any colour that is not white or incandescent.

I can change my bulbs to daylight or incandescent, but not to red, green, blue, ...

Still a problem for me, no colour changing through:

1. Google Home Apps on three phones and two tablets.

2. Three Google Home displays (2 Google + 1 Lenovo)

3 Two Google Home mini speakers and two Google Home original speakers

4. Google Home TV

However, I am able to change the colour through:

A. Phillip's Hue apps on phones and tablets

B. Samsung Smart Things apps

Still a problem for Hue LCT002 and Hue LCT007 bulbs.

I cannot change the colour of these lights through anything Google Home or Google Assistant related.

1. Not through the Google home apps on my phones or tablets.

2. Not through my Google home displays

3. Not through my Google home speakers (mini and original)

4. Not through anything answering to Hey Google.

I can change the colour of these bulbs through the Hue app and the Samsung Smartthings app.

I've removed and re-linked the Hue bridge with Google Home and set everything back up (rooms, devices, ...) but still no colour changing options.

I've reset the Hue bridge and then re-setup everything, then re-linked, but still no colour changing options.

I know there has been a post about this but the issue has not been resolved,

Just recently in fact my google nest mini will not change the colour of my lights when asked. It still turns them on and off but when I say "change lights to red" it says that the lights are offline when actually they are not this has only just happened, specifically at 2300 hrs gmt. I have never had this issue before and i tried all the suggestions, unlinking and relinking my Smart Life Account, resetting my router, resetting the devices and even resetting my google assistant, I want this fixed ASAP.

Also the lights have the ability to change color, 

Additional: if I go into the google home app I can manually change the colour of the bulbs, but when I use voice commands it says the bulbs are offline. I did not get voice controlled multi colour bulbs to control them manually on the app. So either your most recent update messed something up or the API for Smart Life has stopped working

The exact same thing is happening to me. I don’t understand. It’s never happened before. And I’m using LEDs from different brands.

Unfortunately, this issue is happening to me too. Hope google fix this problem

Same problem. The strangest thing is that it doesn't just control the color. The power and brightness adjustment work but not the color adjustment and only with voice commands. Manually from the apps it works correctly

before was okay, it just having a problem like 3-4 days ago. but checking the google home app, all device normal and online. but when changing the colour using google nest mini, it immediately says "lights offline"

The exact same happening to me as well.

With voice it claims the devices are offline, even though it can control them to switch them on/off and shows them in the app, where I can still change the colour manually, 

It's infuriating

That is what is going on with me too, that is why I made this post

fyi, i could confirm that it is effecting another third party apps that support google assistant / home. Cause, i'm using and linking Bardi Smart Home and Xiaomi Home to Google Home.

I have the same problem.  Govee, Philips, SmartLife.  Is there a way to report this issue?

Also just started having this issue in the last couple days after a long time without ever having this issue. Using govee bulbs. Ig they updated something with the voice assistant and broke the command? Anybody have a fix?

I am having the same problem.  It happens with all my lights and devices on all my google home speakers, including regular google home speakers, minis and nest hub max.  It says my lights or device is offline but I can still turn them off and on with google home app, philips hue app, etc.  This just started 2 days ago.  It also isn't running my automations later in evening. These automations have been running for years.

Everyone with this issue should call support 

+1 (650)/417/9099 and talk to them about the issue. I called today and it got escalated to their engineering team and senior management who are looking into it. They got my logs and product info to better understand the issue. If everyone gives their info and reports the issue directly to support and the engineering team we’ll get this back quicker 

This is literally the entire reason I bought a nest speaker, to control my lights and other smart devices. Google, stop putting all your effort into Gemini and FIX YOUR SH*T.

Hi all,
I am also having that issue, change colour comand not working when using one of my nest Mini's. If i use gemini in my phone it works perfectly. When i ask it to change the colour i get the info "light xy was turned off" pretty weird can0t say when it started, but it must has been a few days ago, i use it frequently in the kids room.

I use TUYA bulbs and tried to resync the account, still the same, all my minis have the latest FW (I guess have it on auto update)

Same issue with all my Tuya lights. Tried unlinking and linking and rebooting my router. Works for on and off but says lights are offline if I ask for a color change. All functions work directly from the Google Home app on my iPhone. 

To everyone who had the same issue as me that posted here, check your colour changing lights to see if they work again,

If so then this thread can be marked as resolved

seems to be working for me again as well! Support also got back to me asking if it has been resolved for me, so i think they patched it
