Two weeks ago while on my Samsung S21 phone at 6:35 PM (Google listed the time) I received 4 individual messages from Google each one individually stating that it was deleting one of my Smart Life devices from the Google Home account. 4 messages, all 4 of my devices.
I was not in the process of adding any programs, changing any settings or anything else.
Google just deleted the connections with no reason given.
Tried to re-link Smart Life. Read all the posts/solutions about the Smart Life app. I've deleted the Smart Life app, cleaned all caches, deleted the link to Google, etc., etc., etc. Nothing works. I've spent at least 8 hours trying all the different work-arounds both from this forum and from a plain Google search. Again: nothing has worked.
Right now when I try to "Link" Smart Life to Google Home, the Google Home app stops. My phone now states that Google has crashed so much - DELETE IT !!!!!!!!
I checked Smart Life - their instruction is that if their re-connection instructions (identical to Google's and most of the results from Google Search) don't work - check with the device seller.
So now I have three companies, Tuya, Google, and Samsung, from whom I cannot get an answer or a fix for the issue that "Works with Google" isn't working! Not even an acknowledgement that they know there is a problem and are working on a fix. I even read the post in this column that the ""expert" had no answer to this issue, and asked is there anything else I can help you with. DUH!
Remember - GOOGLE SENT ME THE MESSAGES IT WAS DELETING THE CONNECTIONS! I saved the messages.
I need an answer and not just a work-around. At this point I am ready to check if "Works with Alexa" will work.

Hi Wilie,
Thanks for reaching out. We hear you — we can understand why you feel that way. A few questions: were there any recent changes before it began? Could you try to use another phone and observe if it will make a difference?
I look forward to your response.

We have tried on our phones and tablets. It worked fine for over a year. Then at 6:35 one day about 6 weeks ago I got texts from Google that "I" was disconnecting individually each of my devices from Google home - a total of 4 separate texts, one for each of the devices we had connected through Smart life. It did not say it was disconnecting from Smart Life app.
I tried to re-connect each device. No luck.
I tried to connect through Works with Google. It brings up the list of apps that will work with Google. I click on Smart Life - probably about 30 times now - and one of three things happen.
o Most of the time I get the message "Google app stopped".
o The second occurrence asks my username and password (which I do) and sends me a message on my phone to say "yes it's me" (which I do) and I get the message that "Google app stopped".
o The third occurrence is that after I enter any info I get the message "Google cannot connect to Smart Life" and doesn't do anything else.
I've even tried through my PC with same result.
I've deleted the Smart Life app and re-installed it. I tried the other app that is supposed to work (developed by the same company Tuya) Tuya Smart, and I get the same result.
I've removed the Works with Google connection to Smart Life and tried to reconnect with the same results.
Basically on my phone I'm getting messages that I should "delete" the Google app as it crashes too much!
Frustrated and at a loss of what to do.

Hi there,
Understood. Check out this link and see if your devices are still there. If so, you can remove it from there. Once done, relink it to the Google Home app.
Thanks,
Juni

Had to wait to respond. Still scratching my head because I cannot believe this answer.
You are telling me that Google does not care that "Google" CRASHES every time I try to link this third party app to Google Home !!!!
You are telling me that "Google" does not care that my phone keeps telling me to DELETE GOOGLE because GOOGLE CRASHES TOO MUCH !!!!
You are telling me it is the responsibility of the third party app to FIX Google Crashing !!!! In my opinion, no matter what a third party does - Google should not Crash !!!
This app doesn't connect to Google home but works fine without connecting to Google.
I had just thought Google would try to find out what is happening. Sorry to say that with your responses "Without Google" sounds like an option.

Juni,
I used the link and while the devices were not there, Smart Life was. I removed Smart Life. I went back to Google home. Clicked on "Works with Google". Selected Smart Life on Home Control. Got to the page of Smart Life that gave me the option to "Link my Account to Google". Did it 3 times. First 2 times it took me directly back to "Home Control" to select Smart Life again. The third time I got the message "the Google app stopped". No change from what I was experiencing before.
Thanks,
Wilie

Juni,
I keep trying. Went through the Google assistant and when I click on link got the message: "Google can't reach Smart Life. And for the record I am not using any VPNs. I've even tried the cellular network.

Hello there,
Thanks for the additional information you shared. Have you had the chance to contact the third-party app support team? The partner itself manages the URL portal used to link partners in the Google Home app. Issues encountered when linking a partner (home control) should be directed to that home automation partner for support. Partners are expected to support the integration of their products with Google Nest and Home devices.
Best,
Juni
