Having to press nest wired doorbell multiple times to get chime

Jonnyk

When I press the doorbell button, it only chives once out of every five button presses. It has been working just fine for the past 4 years.

This community question in the address below appears to be the exact problem that I am currently having. However, there was no resolution to the problem.

Hi Jonnyk,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that you push the button 4 or 5 times to chime  inside.

To assist you better, please answer the following questions:

  • Do you have an electric chime or mechanical?
  • How many voltages do you have?
  • Was there a power outage in your area?
  • Does the live feed and video history work fine?

In the meantime, please follow the troubleshooting below:

  • Check the chime duration
    • go to Settings and then Nest Hello and then Chime duration.
  • Turn off indoor chime and wait a few seconds then turn back on
    • Tap your doorbell on the Nest app home screen.
    • Tap Settings
    • Indoor chime On/Off
  • Turn off Quiet time
  • Restart your Nest Doorbell, check this article: Restart or factory reset Nest camera or doorbell

Keep me posted.

Best regards

Rusell
