Home got deleted from Google Home app

For some reason, the "Home" in my Google Home app got deleted this week. The access was shared to my wife and her phone app just suddenly gave notification of removed access rights (don't know exactly what it said as I did not see the message myself). When I checked my app noticed that all the devices are there but the home and the rooms are gone.

Both of us are using MFA and did not do this by mistake, so believe it is a system error.

Now I tried to recreate Home, but currently I'm not able to add any rooms. When I try to add a device to a room it actually asks if I want to move the device to an other home?

This makes me think that my "configuration" is still there but someone has messed up with some system migration...

Any way for me to solve this or has anyone experienced anything similar?

Noticed just now, when I tried to recreate the whole Home setup, all the cast devices are in state that I cannot assign them and they only give me an option to request access to "Home"... I got kicked out from my own setup.. what the..?

Hey JussiR,

Thanks for reaching out. That certainly hasn’t been easy for you, let's check what's going on with your access.

A few questions: are you using a private or public network? How many members do you have in your home? Have you tried reinstalling your Google Home app?

If you'll get the same result, try resetting your devices so that you can set them up again and recreate a new home structure.

Thanks,

Alex

Hi Alex,

Actually forgot to update this thread as there was no reply before.

I actually got my access back once we noticed my Wifes' old Gmail account still had access.

So basically the case was exactly that we got our accounts deleted from our own setup. There's 0 change that it was accidentally done by one of us and there are no other signs of account misusage so I will count hacking out.

It must have been a technical glitch, but the truth is that we got lucky my wife had her old account in there (made new one because of taking my last name).
