I'm not sure when this might have started but noticed it today when trying to create a new automation routine in the home app; the buttons for menu and exit/confirm are completely blocked by the status bar (top most bar, time, battery %, etc.) - so you can't save the routine.
I've tried changing the resolution and text size but it persists - have also uninstalled/reinstalled the home app and restarted phone multiple times - can't seem to get any way to make the buttons selectable and remain stuck underneath the status bar.

Had to dig around Reddit, but looks like if you move to landscape viewing you can at least use the buttons until Google has a fix.

I have found the same on my Pixel 9
Embarrassingly (for Google) I had to install the app on my work iPhone and do what I wanted on there.

Didn't think of trying from an iPhone, have a work one as well - also on a Pixel 9 as my own phone. Can't seem to find any work around so looks like it's stuck like this until they issue a fix.

Can confirm you can just about click the edge of the confirmation buttons in landscape mode - thank you! Would still be much better if it had a proper fix obviously.

Yes. That does work, but it is still difficult. Often requires hunting for a spot that will work

Hi all,
Thanks for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties creating a new home automation in the Google Home app using your Pixel phone and that the buttons for menu and exit/confirm are completely blocked by the status bar at the top of the screen, making them unclickable and preventing you from saving your home automation. I appreciate the detailed information you've shared and the suggestion to fix it temporarily. No worries, I'd be more than glad to share more details with you.
We're aware of an issue with creating home automations using Pixel Phones in the Google Home app; our team is already working on it. We’ll share an update as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.
Cheers,
Jonathan
