You can usually say “hey google play (insert playlist here)”

spotify recently came out with an A.I. DJ.
how can I choose and play that with my voice?

Hi Oatman2000,

Thanks for posting.

A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? What troubleshooting steps have you done so far? You mean play it on your Nest speaker or your phone? What exactly is the command and the error message when requesting A.I. DJ?

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first to refresh the settings:

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router, followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

Replicate the concern and tell me how it goes.

Best,

Dan

A.I. DJ is a new beta “library” from Spotify.
i have like 9 nest minis along with the google router and additional access points that are also speakers.

this may be more of a question for the spotify team (cross posted) but I can’t find a way to invoke it using voice commands through google assistant.

every request just plays a random “DJ playlist”

What I can do is start the playlist on my phone then output the speaker groups from the spotify app.

i’m looking to schedule the whole bit using a routine and without finding a way to access the beta using my voice i won’t be able to key it into the routing since they are pretty much one in the same.

Hello Oatman2000,

While Google Home and Nest devices don't have any voice commands to play music via Spotify using its new AI DJ, we're always looking for ways to improve our devices and we'll take this as a feature request. You can share feedback with our product team directly using this support guide.

Let me know if you have other questions or concerns; otherwise, I’ll be locking this thread after 24 hours.

Cheers,
Lovely
