Issues with Multiple Home users adding devices for the same service provider

We've had Google Home now for several years (almost 4) and probably upwards of 160+ connected devices across 20 or so services. One thing in common that we've noticed is that services do not want to be tied to a home but a user in the home. This continually causes issues. One of the latest examples is the Moonside Lamps (https://moonside.design/). My partner bought several of the lamps and after seeing them I wanted one for myself. Because we all want to be able to control the products through Google or through the Moonside app we set up a shared moonside login. I then connected my lamp with the moonside app on my phone. Unfortunately here's what happens:
  • My Google Home App: Shows his moonside devices.
  • His Google Home App: Shows ALL moonside devices.
  • My Moonside App: Shows my device.
  • His Moonside App: Shows his devices.
It appears that moonside syncs devices based on the phone that the device was originally connected with (despite there being a cloud sync) and these devices never cross apps unless you disconnect and factory reset the device.

This means if anyone wants to turn devices on or off with Google Home all devices have to be added and controlled via the same phone in moonside. OK, that's doable... but now I want to change the scene in my lamp. I now have to yell upstairs to my partner while we are working and try to guess a memorized scene to have him switch to it via Moonside or go up there and borrow his phone. Greaaaat.

This is just one in a slew of similar issues:

Nanoleaf does not allow device pairing properly when two users have connected nanoleaf devices in the nanoleaf app and then try to sync Google Home. Either one or the other person will not be able to see or change scenes in either Google Home OR the Nanoleaf app.

Lutron light switches will show offline in Google Home for ALL Google Home App users if more than one person attempts to pair Lutron to Google Home.

The list goes on and on for so many providers, TP-Link Kasa, LG Thinq, Leviton, Phillips Hue, blah blah blah blah

Despite me telling him OVER AND OVER AND OVER for the last two years to allow me to manage all the devices he consistently will buy and add something new and break functionality.

I'm at my wit's end here and just said "**bleep** it" today and disconnected everything from my side and told him to go re-pair all services and devices and I will just not have control of some functionality for my personal effects and devices.

My main questions are:
Are these common issues or do we just have some unique **bleep**ed up connections?
Are there workarounds for these problems?

I'm at the point where I'm just ready to switch over to Alexa and ditch Google Home completely. We did just get rid of the Google mesh wifi because it was junk and causing so many problems. Got the TP Link Deco Mesh network and haven't had a single problem since. I was hoping the issues we had were not an indication of the reliability we would see with all of Google's physical products and connections with the assistant.

Hey there,
Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to drop in here to help.

I understand that these issues can be confusing but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,
Garrett DS
