Hi
I know I am late to this but all previous attempts to migrate to Google failed so I didn't do this within the deadline. I have Nest and used a Hotmail account to login. I downloaded the Google home app this weekend and added my hotmail account to this so that it would invite my account to link. Every time I click on the invite link it defaults to Google and wont let me in or allows me to sign in via the hotmail account then does the doughnut of doom on me and doesn't allow me to connect the Nest.
I've tried to add a device already installed but it wants a key and when I go into my Nest is says it is already registered so wont give me a key. I've tried scaning the QR code on the back of the Nest and it just defaults to "already registered" even though I am clicking on the already registered link!!!
My husband also had a login via his yahoo account but again Google home wont recognise this so I have tried every avenue and before I reset to factory settings and the crazyness that that will entail, anyone with any advice here please?
Thanks lovely people
Lisa

I'm a bit confused about what you've done so far. I have no idea what you mean by "so that it would invite my account to link".
To migrate a Nest Account to a Google Account, you go to the Google Nest app and select Settings | Account | Migrate to a Google Account, and follow the prompts.
After you migrate, the Google Nest devices already installed in the Google Nest app (except for Nest Protects, and maybe some others) can now be seen in the Google Home app, and you will log onto the Google Nest app using the "Sign in with Google" option.
You cannot migrate to a Google Account that is already being used for Google Nest devices.
You also cannot migrate to a G-suite (Google Workspace) account.
The Help topic below has information about migrating, including what to do if the Google Account to which you want migrate is already linked to another Nest Account (that is, is already being used for Google Nest devices).

We migrated our Nest Account to a Google Account in 2020, and did not have any issues. We continue to use the Google Nest app for our older cameras and doorbells, and the Google Home app for our newer cameras and Nest Hubs.

Thanks for coming back to me so quickly I did migrate my account and my devices weren't there. I found the option to link family members which then allowed me to enter my hotmail account and it sent me an invitation. The lin to the invite from hotmail then just took me back to my google login.
Thanks for your support

When you say you "migrated", did you go to the Google Nest app, and select Settings | Account | Migrate to a Google Account, and follow the prompts? And was it successful?
When you say "my devices weren't there", did you log onto the Google Nest app using the "Sign in with Google" option and selecting the Google Account to which you migrated? And did you also log into the Google Home app with the same Google Account to which you migrated? Which devices are you not seeing in either place?
Did you use the Settings | + Add | Home Member option in the Google Home app to try to add your hotmail account to your "household"? Household members have to have gmail accounts, and they will see the same thing you're seeing; nothing more or less.

@MplsCustomer Yes to all of the above, thanks for taking the time to reply.

When you log onto the Google Nest app using the "Sign in with Google" option and selecting the Google Account to which you migrated, what do you see? Do you see the same Google Nest "home/structure" you previously saw before migrating? You should. What devices do you see or not see? And when you log into the Google Home app with the same Google Account to which you migrated, do you see the same Google Nest "home/structure"?

@MplsCustomer so I signed out of the Nest app and logged in again with my hotmail account. I then went to migrate with Google again and it states that my gmail account is already linked with another Nest account which is strange as I only have one Nest account, any suggestions?
Thank you for all your help so far

You said you already migrated.
So if you log into the Google Nest app with your hotmail account and then try to migrate your Nest Account to the Google Account to which you already migrated, of course it's going to tell you that it is already linked to your Nest Account.
You didn't answer the questions above about what you see when you log into the Google Nest app and Google Home app.

sorry @MplsCustomer it doesn't tell me that its already linked to my account it tells me that it is link to another Nest account and no I dont see the same structure, all I see is my TV no Nest or any other device

Let me try this again.
I suspect that you originally may have tried--and failed--to migrate your Nest Account to a Google Account because you were already using that Google Account to sign onto the Google Home app, where you had already installed at least one other Google Nest device (like Chromecast for your TV, or a Nest Hub or Nest speaker). That means that that Google Account is already linked to another "Nest Account" that allows you to access your Chromecast and/or Nest Hubs, etc. (That would mean you really do have TWO "Nest Accounts", one that you've been using in the Google Nest app, and the other that you've been using in the Google Home app for Chromecast with your TV.)
If that is the case, then, as I said earlier, you need to go to that same link on migration issues I provided above (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9297676), and look at the "Error message: Google Account is already linked with another Nest account" topic, which says:
